The system replaces traditional overseas lens casting processes with lab-ready technology that uses 80% less material, enables full freeform manufacturing, and supports design of lenses impossible to produce with conventional methods. Azul 3D's platform is compatible with LMS systems, lab processing, hard coats, tints, mirror finishes, and anti-reflective coatings, producing optical-grade parts with 56 ABBE value, over 90% luminous transmittance, and less than 1% haze. The continuous printing process creates a single polymer network without layers, with in-process thermal control maintaining consistency across large production volumes, supporting lens diameters up to 90mm with compatible Rx ranges from -10 to +6.
