About

Babylon Labs develops Bitcoin staking and collateral infrastructure protocols that enable Bitcoin holders to earn rewards and participate in decentralized finance without wrapping, bridging, or surrendering custody of their BTC. The platform's core Bitcoin Staking Protocol allows Bitcoin holders to lock BTC in a technically secure, self-custodial way to help validate other blockchains, exposing participating validators to potential delegations from Bitcoin's $1 trillion market cap. The protocol involves three steps: stake (lock Bitcoin in your own wallet), secure (help validate PoS chains), and receive (earn rewards). Babylon's Trustless Bitcoin Vaults (TBV) enable users to borrow stablecoins while maintaining custody of their Bitcoin, combining Babylon vault security with Aave v4 borrowing liquidity on Ethereum. The TBV workflow involves depositing native BTC into a trustless vault, activating collateral state verifiable on Ethereum, borrowing stablecoins through Aave, and unlocking BTC after repayment. The platform has achieved 56,853+ BTC staked (approximately $5.64B) and has formed partnerships with Aegis (fixed-rate borrowing), GoMining (activating up to 1,000 BTC through trustless vaults), and Ledger (expanding access to trustless Bitcoin vaults). Babylon also provides Bitcoin timestamping for data availability and security sharing. Founded in 2022 and headquartered in Palo Alto, United States, Babylon Labs has raised approximately $15 million at the Series B stage from investors including a16zcrypto and HashKey Capital.
