About

Buzz Solutions develops an AI-powered visual intelligence platform called PowerAI that processes drone and aerial inspection imagery to help electric utilities accelerate the shift from reactive to proactive asset management across transmission, distribution, substation, and solar infrastructure. The platform processes 25,000+ images per hour with 50+ pre-trained models deployable on day one, reducing image analysis time from 1-2 minutes per photo manually to 0.6 seconds, achieving 70% improved inspection analysis efficiency. For transmission, PowerAI identifies insulator, paint, and hardware issues across tower networks. For distribution, it detects environmental risks from storms and wildfires. For substations, it provides real-time security alerts including intrusion detection, person-down, smoke and fire, and thermal analysis using existing CCTV cameras. For solar, it flags hotspots, string outages, and panel cracks from drone imagery. Buzz serves major utilities including Dominion Energy (47,000 towers), AEP Texas (88,000+ images), NYPA (1,550 circuit-miles), Ameren (scaling to 2,500 MW solar), and the City of Troy (90% of failing components caught before storms). Founded in 2017 and headquartered in Stanford, California, Buzz Solutions has raised $9.5 million in a Series B round backed by GoPoint Ventures, Blackhorn Ventures, MaC Venture Capital, Ulu Ventures, Vodia Capital, Advisors.Fund, Blue Leaf Ventures, and Stanford Angels & Entrepreneurs.
