About
Carbo Culture is a project developer and producer of biochar carbon removal solutions, utilizing its patented Carbolysis reactor technology to convert waste biomass into stable biochar, permanently locking carbon away for centuries while generating renewable energy in the process. The company technology takes waste biomass from agricultural and orchard sources and transforms it through a high-temperature conversion process into an inert, solid form of pure carbon that stays out of the atmosphere. The resulting high-quality biochar is used in agricultural applications to improve soil structure and water retention, in construction materials, and generates some of the most tangible carbon credits on the market. Carbo Culture operates a project platform model, with its final test rig R3 already installed and its first commercial facility C1 under development, with plans to establish multiple facilities. The company has been awarded a 3.5 million euro Dutch grant to launch ARC Middenmeer in North Holland and is working on applications spanning from biochar to green steel decarbonization. The technology supports the EU Biochar Carbon Removal Methodology standard for permanent carbon removals. Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Woodside, United States, Carbo Culture has raised approximately 4.9 million at the Series A stage with investors including EIC Fund, GenZero, True Ventures, Starlight Ventures, Cherry Ventures, Ubermorgen Ventures, Tesi, Urban Impact, SPRIND, Lifeline Ventures, and Climate Capital.
