About

Delve Bio develops a metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS) platform that detects neuro-infectious pathogens including bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites in cerebrospinal fluid through a single comprehensive test, ending the test-after-test cycle when diagnosing meningitis and encephalitis. The company's flagship product, Delve Detect, analyzes millions of genetic sequences against a curated database of more than 68,000 unique species, delivering comprehensive pathogen identification in 48 hours from sample receipt using just 1mL of CSF shipped at room temperature. The test is hypothesis-free and culture-independent, sequencing all nucleic acids (DNA and RNA) in a sample, and includes expert medical consultation through a Clinical Microbial Sequencing Board. Delve Detect delivers 22% greater diagnostic yield compared to all other infectious disease tests, with 97% positive and 92% negative percent agreement, and 54% of diagnoses made through mNGS alone resulting in treatment changes. The technology is backed by over 7 years of real-world evidence from more than 4,800 patient samples, and is performed in a CAP-accredited and CLIA-certified laboratory. Delve Bio is the exclusive licensee of University of California San Francisco (UCSF) mNGS technology and the exclusive provider of the UCSF mNGS test. Founded in 2022 and headquartered in San Francisco, United States, Delve Bio has raised approximately $35 million at the Series A stage from investors including Google Ventures, Xontogeny, and S32.
