About

Diffraqtion develops quantum imaging technology through its Quantum Camera Platform, which uses breakthroughs in quantum technology and AI to see beyond the diffraction limit—the physical boundary that constrains conventional cameras and satellites. Developed over 10 years by Professor Saikat Guha in partnership with DARPA and NASA for high-precision space situational awareness, the technology was originally designed for the Habitable Worlds Observatory (successor to James Webb and Hubble) to discover exoplanets that can support life. Conventional cameras lose the vast majority of information contained in light, limiting satellites and machines to the diffraction limit. Diffraqtion's Quantum Camera Platform is the first to capture information beyond this limit, identifying objects orders of magnitude further than any camera known to humanity. The company serves four industries: Space Domain Awareness (enhancing satellite and debris tracking capabilities), Earth Intelligence (improving satellite imaging for agriculture, climate monitoring, and defense), Automated Manufacturing (enabling precision inspection and quality control), and Autonomous Vehicles (enhancing sensor range and object detection for self-driving systems). The technology has won first prize out of 1,000 startups at SLUSH 2025, NASA's $100K Space-to-Soil Challenge, and $100K Best Space Innovation of 2025 at TechConnect. Founded in 2024 and headquartered in Somerville, United States, Diffraqtion has raised approximately $5.4 million at the Seed stage from investors including General Catalyst, Cherry Ventures, QDNL Participations, Offline Ventures, and Plug and Play Tech Center.
