EeroQ

EeroQ develops gate-based quantum processor chips for universal quantum computers using a novel approach that traps and controls individual electrons floating above pools of superfluid helium. Unlike traditional quantum computing platforms, EeroQ's technology leverages the purity of superfluid helium to protect the intrinsic quantum properties of each electron, encoding quantum information in the electron's lateral quantum motion and ultimately targeting its magnetic moment (spin) for large-scale computation. The company fabricates microchannels into silicon wafers filled with superfluid helium and energized electrodes for precision electron trapping, using microwave signals for quantum logic gate operations and fast electronics for readout. By leveraging existing CMOS chip fabrication technology, EeroQ aims to scale rapidly with a fraction of the resources required by competing approaches. The platform promises exceptionally long coherence times, high qubit connectivity, CMOS compatibility, fast gates, and the ability to fit millions of electrons on a single chip without modular designs. Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Brooklyn, United States, EeroQ has raised approximately $7.3 million at the Series A stage from investors including B Capital, Calibrate Ventures, Alumni Ventures, VCapital, Red Cedar, Unbound, SEALSQ, and ASCENT.
