HexaTech

HexaTech is a manufacturer of high-quality aluminum nitride (AlN) substrates for semiconductor devices. The company has developed a proprietary crystal growth process that yields the worlds highest quality single crystalline AlN boules, producing material with 10,000 to 1,000,000 times fewer defects than competing technologies. These substrates enable the fabrication of advanced III-nitride based devices with vastly superior performance and device lifetimes, including long-life UV-C LEDs for disinfection applications, deep UV lasers for biological threat detection, high-voltage switching devices for efficient power conversion, and RF components for satellite communications. The wide bandgap semiconductor properties of AlN enable lattice-matched, highly thermally conducting wafers that support sophisticated next-generation III-nitride devices with high Al content AlGaN and other III-N based architectures. In March 2020, Stanley Electric Co., Ltd., a leading automobile lamp manufacturer in Japan, acquired HexaTech, which now operates as a Stanley Electric Group company. Founded in 2001 and headquartered in the United States, HexaTech has raised approximately 11.6 million at the Series B stage with investors including Intersouth Partners, NC IDEA, H.I.G. Capital, Sevin Rosen, and OSTI.
