About

Hexigone develops advanced anti-corrosion coating additives, offering Intelli-ion, a patented, award-winning ion-exchange corrosion inhibitor designed to replace traditional inhibitors in coatings for ferrous and non-ferrous objects. Intelli-ion activates on-demand, extending asset protection while helping coatings manufacturers meet rising performance and regulatory requirements. The technology delivers maximum corrosion protection at ultra-low loading levels as low as 0.5%, significantly reducing the overall amount of inhibitor needed and delivering substantial cost savings compared to traditional corrosion inhibitors. Intelli-ion can be used with acrylic, polyester, polyurethane, and epoxy binder systems, and can also be blended with zinc phosphate for synergistic results. The product is REACH compliant and has been awarded a Platinum rating by EcoVadis, ensuring coatings align with stringent sustainability standards. Hexigone's technology has applications across marine, aerospace, coil coating, and manufacturing industries. The company recently secured £1.2M to accelerate corrosion inhibitor technology development, expanding applications from warships to wind farms. Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Swansea, United Kingdom, Hexigone has raised $4.8M in Series A funding from investors including British Business Bank, Development Bank of Wales, Armourers' Hall, Sunnybarn Investments, ACF Investors, Oxford Innovation Finance, Waterspring, UK Innovation Science & Seed Fund, and Syndicate Room.
