About
IO River develops a multi-edge orchestration platform that unifies content delivery, routing, and configuration across multiple CDNs through a single control layer, enabling organizations to manage their entire delivery stack without vendor lock-in. The platform offers three products: Virtual Edge for full multi-CDN control from a single UI, Virtual CDN (VCDN) for a single endpoint composed of multiple CDNs with auto-optimization for performance, cost, and availability, and Multi-CDN as a Service for multi-edge control without complexity. IO River integrates with over 15 CDN providers and edge platforms using APIs, real-time telemetry, and edge compute, automatically importing every rule, cache, and policy to enable migration in minutes rather than weeks. Core capabilities include multi-CDN steering (commitment-based, cost-based, and performance-based), unified monitoring dashboards, unified orchestration and configuration (cache management, TLS certificates, origin management), and unified security services including a Check Point-powered WAF deployable across multiple CDN providers with consistent behavior. The platform delivers 99.999% uptime, up to 40% cost reduction through smart geo-based traffic steering, and 20ms average P95 performance. IO River does not sit in the delivery path, so CDNs continue operating even if IO River is offline. The platform is SOC 2 certified, ISO 27001, GDPR, and HIPAA compliant, with support for REST API, Python, Go, and Terraform. Founded in 2022 and headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, IO River has raised $25.4 million in a Series A round backed by S Capital VC, Venture Guides, and NewEra.
