About
Kuva Systems provides continuous monitoring solutions for methane and VOC emissions using optical gas imaging technology that enables oil and gas operators to see, size, and solve methane emission problems in minimal time. Now part of Sensirion Connected Solutions, Kuva offers camera-based continuous monitoring that automates emissions detection and analysis with SWIR imaging, providing visual images of methane emissions that lead to expedited troubleshooting and repair. The platform delivers 90% fewer alerts through contextual rationalization with no false positives, alerts prioritized by emission size and source, and remote visual site investigation that avoids unnecessary OGI site visits. Kuva enables 90% faster root-cause analysis for intermittent emissions and their causes, with industry-leading 80,000 site surveys per year. The solution is approved for regulatory use in Colorado and New Mexico, with EPA approval as an Alternative Test Method for periodic screenings under NSPS OOOOa/b regulations, and is AICPA SOC II certified. Kuva has been blind-tested at Colorado State University METEC facility and approved by the Alberta Energy Regulator for its alternative fugitive emissions management program. The platform supports OGMP Level 4 and 5 reporting, Veritas Pathway 3, and differentiated gas certification, providing source-level continuous data with every event individually quantified. Kuva serves operational excellence, regulatory compliance, emissions data and OGMP reporting, and reputational risk management use cases, with the lowest total-cost-of-ownership solution for complex upstream sites with payback time under 6 months. The company has received a $5 million DOE contract for workflow automation at 175 sites and partnerships with Marathon Oil, Microsoft, Montrose Environmental, and VisionAery. Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Kuva Systems has raised approximately $34.7 million in Series A funding from investors including Climate Innovation Capital, Draeger, Clean Energy Venture Group, Government of Canada, CRIN, and Greentown Labs.
