The company's PolyPower cell delivers high-rate capability (15C continuous, 20C+ pulse), zero thermal runaway risk at the cell level verified by UL9540A simulation, up to 90% lower cathode cost versus traditional metal cathodes, and competitive cycle life of over 1,000 cycles. Unlike conventional cathodes that release oxygen under heat degradation, LiNova's polymer cathode eliminates this fire risk fundamentally. The anode-agnostic platform technology pairs with graphite, silicon, lithium, and sodium-ion anodes, and is manufacturable on existing lithium-ion production lines without specialized equipment. LiNova targets critical infrastructure including data center battery backup units, stationary energy storage systems, electric vehicles, aerospace and defense, and utility vehicles. The company has a NYSERDA-funded 5 kWh BESS pilot project and is producing golf cart pilot packs with American integrators, while its cells are being evaluated by major American and European automotive OEMs. Founded in 2022 and headquartered in Monrovia, California with operations in Peekskill, New York, LiNova Energy has raised $20.0M in Series A funding led by Saft (a TotalEnergies company), Chevron Technology Ventures, and Catalus Capital, with a joint development agreement advancing to Stage 2.
