About

Loomia designs and manufactures soft, flexible electronics through its proprietary Loomia Electronic Layer, a mesh-based alternative to printed electronics that enables integration of heating, lighting, sensing, and data-tracking capabilities into textiles and soft materials. The Loomia Electronic Layer is thin, flexible, and drapable with up to 50% stretch for serpentine designs, offering 40% improvement in conductivity over printed ink on TPU with consistent resistance that does not change when stretched. The technology uses silver-free conductors for improved sustainability and avoids heavy chemical etchants in production. Available at up to 20,000 units per week in an ISO 13485 and ISO 9001-certified facility, units can cost as low as $0.05 per square inch. Loomia's functionalities include pressure sensors, HMI switches, flexible heaters, and antenna and cabling solutions, serving automotive, robotics and AR/VR, and medical and wellness industries. Real-world projects include a flexible heater system for Asahi Kasei in automotive, a tactile pressure-sensing matrix for Festo in soft robotics, and a washable wearable sensing platform for Analog Devices. Founded in 2004 and headquartered in New York City, the company has raised approximately $7.5M in Series A funding from investors including Peacock Equity, Asset Management Ventures, Telefonica, National Science Foundation, XRC Ventures, Loup Ventures, Backstage Capital, Dot Edu Ventures, Makers Boot, and Western Technology Investment. Loomia differentiates itself through its mesh-based Loomia Electronic Layer that outperforms printed electronics in conductivity, flexibility, and sustainability while enabling scalable production of electronic textiles for automotive, robotics, and medical applications.
