Lynk is a space technology company that has developed a patented, commercially licensed direct-to-device (D2D) satellite connectivity system. The technology enables ubiquitous mobile coverage by connecting standard, unmodified mobile phones to satellites in low Earth orbit, eliminating the need for specialized hardware. Lynk partners with mobile network operators (MNOs) worldwide to extend coverage to areas without terrestrial cell towers, providing SMS and eventually voice and data services. The company has successfully conducted field tests with telecom operators including PLDT-Smart in the Philippines, OPT-NC in New Caledonia, and has received FCC approval for 900 MHz satellite-enabled D2D enterprise communications with Anterix.
