About

Mio is an interoperability platform that enables chat and file sharing across Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, and Zoom, allowing teams on different collaboration platforms to communicate seamlessly. Rather than being a separate chat application, Mio integrates with existing messaging platforms to relay messages, files, and user identities in real time. Its four core capabilities include Directory Sync for bidirectional user directory synchronization, Chat Sync for cross-platform messaging in channels and direct chats, External Chat Sync for collaborating with partners outside the organization, and File Sync for sharing Google Drive and SharePoint links across platforms. Mio is Google's official interoperability partner and works directly with Google to build the APIs that relay information between platforms. The platform never persistently stores user messages or files, maintaining a security-first approach with API-based middleware. Mio serves enterprises dealing with mergers and acquisitions, long-term coexistence scenarios, frontline worker communication, and vendor lock-in avoidance. Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Austin, Texas, the company has raised approximately $26.5 million in Series A funding from investors including Khosla Ventures, Two Sigma Ventures, Eniac Ventures, Cisco Investments, Zoom, and Capital Factory.
