MedRhythms develops next-generation neurotherapeutics that leverage the power of music and technology to improve walking, mobility, and related functional outcomes for people with neurological injuries and diseases. The company has pioneered a proprietary, patented technology platform rooted in rhythmic auditory stimulation (RAS), an evidence-based intervention that over 50 clinical research studies have shown can improve walking impairments caused by neurologic diseases and injuries. The platform combines inertial measurement unit (IMU) sensors, software, and music with advanced neuroscience to target neural circuitry, using AI to personalize and improve algorithms over time and generate predictive insights about user populations. MedRhythms has developed two prescription products: InTandem, for ambulatory adults with stroke walking impairments, and MOVIVE, for people with Parkinson's disease, both available nationwide by prescription. These represent the world's first prescription music platform, developed through a collaboration with Universal Music Group that provides patients access to a diverse, culturally rich collection of music. The company's patented process analyzes music content for therapeutic characteristics, then curates, augments, and individualizes clinical interventions for each patient. With over 75,000 hours of clinical experience and 30,000 hours of direct patient care delivered by trained clinicians, MedRhythms recognized the opportunity to leverage technology as a significantly more scalable modality. The company is developing a pipeline of digital therapeutics across neurological conditions including stroke, multiple sclerosis, and Parkinson's disease.
