NuCurrent is a fabless semiconductor and wireless power technology company that designs and licenses wireless charging architectures for next-generation wearables, hearables, medical devices, and ambient computing devices. The company holds over 450 global patents and has enabled more than 500 million devices in mass production worldwide. NuCurrent holds a seat on the NFC Forum Board of Directors, authors Qi2 specifications, and contributes to AirFuel and Ki Cordless Kitchen standards. The company platform consists of three layers: standards development, an engineering stack built around proprietary IP, and GenA, an applied-AI platform that runs approximately 200 times faster than industry-standard EDA tools for co-designing coil, silicon, firmware, and thermal paths. Applications span smart glasses, in-ear audio, medical and wearable devices, PC peripherals, and industrial equipment including cordless kitchen systems up to 2,200 watts. Clients include WHOOP, Klipsch, Poly (HP), Logitech, and PopSockets. Founded in 2009 at Northwestern University and headquartered in Chicago, NuCurrent has raised approximately $23.1 million through Series C funding.
