About
Orbit Fab builds the first commercial spacecraft refueling service, creating Gas Stations in Space that enable satellites to extend their operational lifetimes and increase delta-V capabilities anytime, anywhere in orbit. The company develops three core products: fuel shuttles that deliver propellant directly to spacecraft equipped with its refueling interface; RAFTI, a flight-proven refueling port interface that spacecraft manufacturers integrate into their designs to enable cooperative docking and refueling; and UMPIRE, mission planning software that optimizes refueling logistics to augment mission goals. Orbit Fab has secured contracts with the U.S. Space Force under the DIU RAPIDS program to become the first company to deliver fuel to U.S. Space Force satellites, and will offer hydrazine refueling services in GEO starting at $20M for 100kg. The company is also supporting the UK Space Agency Active Debris Removal Program by equipping ClearSpace debris removal satellites with refueling capabilities, and completed the first commercial in-space fuel sale by agreeing to refuel Astroscale LEXI servicers with up to 1,000kg of xenon in GEO. Orbit Fab is trusted by 5 US and international government programs and over 100 commercial spacecraft. Founded in 2018 and headquartered in Lafayette, Colorado, Orbit Fab has raised approximately $62.7 million in a Series B round backed by Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Tribe Capital, 8090 Industries, Munich Re Ventures, Type One Ventures, Good Growth Capital, Industrious Ventures, Stride Capital, Techstars, Bolt, the National Science Foundation, and others.
