About

PathogenDx is a biotechnology company that develops DNA-based pathogen testing technology using its proprietary D3 Array (Dynamic Dimensional Detection) platform. The D3 Array combines end-point PCR with a unique three-dimensional multiplexed array and intelligent software to simultaneously identify up to 100+ targets in a single reaction with single-gene copy sensitivity. The technology creates a three-dimensional molecular binding architecture that transforms DNA binding and target detection, offering faster reaction times, real-time hybridization, and cost-effective testing compared to serial qPCR and NGS methods. Each well can contain over 400 unique probes with built-in replicate testing. PathogenDx serves three major sectors: agriculture (cannabis and hemp testing for bacterial, fungal species, and plant viruses including Hop Latent Viroid, partnering with 120+ laboratories in 36 states), food safety (Salmonella detection and serotyping for poultry producers, Listeria and environmental monitoring), and clinical diagnostics (UTI panels detecting 26 pathogens and 12 antibiotic resistance genes). The company also offers the Octa AutoPrep Station for lab workflow automation and QuantX assays for semi-quantitative fungal and bacterial analysis. Founded in 2014 and headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, PathogenDx has raised $11.6M in Series B funding from investors including NIH, Salveo Capital, Altitude Investment Management, Canopy Ventures, Entourage Effect Capital, Arcadian Investment Partners, Flatiron Venture Partners, HHS, Arcadian Capital, HALLEY Venture Partners, and Xandex Investments.
