About

Plentify develops AI-driven smart energy management devices and software that optimize home energy usage, reduce electricity costs, and improve grid resilience. The company flagship product, HotBot, is an intelligent controller that attaches to home water heaters (geysers), using AI to learn household hot water usage patterns and schedule heating during off-peak or solar generation periods, delivering significant electricity bill savings. HotBot also features advanced leak detection to prevent geyser bursts. The company second product, SolarBot, is a smart controller for home solar and battery systems that maximizes solar self-consumption by analyzing weather forecasts, load shedding schedules, and behavioral data to optimize energy storage and usage. Plentify serves multiple market segments including homeowners with and without solar, property companies and body corporates, solar and battery companies, utilities and municipalities, and installers. The platform includes a mobile app for remote monitoring and control, vacation mode scheduling, and real-time energy insights. Customers report electricity bill reductions of up to R2,000 per month and backup battery capability extensions from 3.5 to 5.5 hours. Founded in 2008 and headquartered in Cape Town, South Africa, Plentify has raised approximately $15 million in Series A funding from investors including URBAN-X, Telus, Third Sphere, Secha Capital, E3 Capital, Elevation Ventures, and Climate Capital.
