About

QLM Technology develops quantum gas lidar solutions for continuous greenhouse gas emissions monitoring, providing a security camera for methane emissions that reveals emitters with a solution matched to how they behave in the wild. The company patented single diode laser lidar technology was developed to find every leak every day everywhere, addressing the fundamental problem that traditional lidar measurement of methane using complex expensive lasers, pioneered 50 years ago and still applied from airplanes and large installations, only monitors sites very occasionally, sometimes for a few seconds every few months, meaning most leaks get missed. QLM low-cost, simple systems can be deployed continuously without expensive operators and data interpreters, enabling continuous monitoring across upstream and downstream gas, refining, wastewater, landfills, and farming sectors. The company has been awarded multiple patents for using lidar with just one low-power diode laser to quantify remote methane leaks. A University of Queensland study confirmed methane super-emitter detection using QLM quantum gas lidar, and the EPA has granted SLB approval to deploy QLM cameras across the oil and gas industry. SLB is QLM largest shareholder with a Collaboration Agreement guaranteeing support and sales as the exclusive channel for upstream and midstream oil and gas markets. QLM serves oil and gas and wastewater utilities with its methane lidar camera, QLM Cloud platform, and comprehensive monitoring solution that is cost-effective to scale and implement. Founded in 2017 and headquartered in Newport, United Kingdom with offices in Cardiff, Paignton, Bristol, and Denver, QLM has raised approximately $23.4 million in Series A funding from investors including SLB, ChampionX, Enterprise 100, Development Bank of Wales, Bristol Private Equity Club, Green Angel Ventures, Quantum Exponential, SFC Capital, Net Zero Technology Centre, Seraphim, and Generation Space. The company employs approximately 40 people.
