This approach addresses a key limitation of current mRNA technology, which can write functions into cells but cannot read what cell type it is in before doing so. The platform mines vast multi-dimensional transcriptomic datasets for targetable cell signatures, predicts and engineers regulated genetic payloads, and reprograms only desired cells with precision. Founded in 2022 and headquartered in Berkeley, California, Radar Therapeutics has raised $13.4 million in seed funding from investors including NFX, Eli Lilly, Biovision Ventures, KdT Ventures, and Pear VC. The scientific advisory board is co-chaired by Jim Collins of MIT and Xiaojing Gao of Stanford.
