About

RayGen Resources is a developer of next-generation solar power technology and long-duration energy storage solutions that integrate generation and storage in a single system. The RayGen system uses mirrors to concentrate sunlight onto ultra-efficient solar modules that are 2000 times more powerful than traditional solar panels, manufactured at Australia largest renewable energy manufacturing facility with 170 MW annual capacity. The modules directly produce electricity for the grid while simultaneously capturing heat, which is stored in a water reservoir as low-cost thermal storage supporting dispatchable synchronous power for 8 to 48 hours or more. The system provides critical grid services including physical inertia, voltage and frequency support, and offers flexible system sizing with independently configurable generation, storage, charge, and discharge capacity. Applications include data centre cooling with zero-carbon cooling and no water consumption, agrivoltaics with sheep grazing, and renewable electricity and heat supply. RayGen operates flagship facilities including a 5MW solar and 2.8MW/50MWh storage plant in Carwarp, Victoria, and a 1MW deployment in Petrolina, Brazil, with a 150MW/90MW/720MWh project in development at Yadnarie, South Australia. Founded in 2005 and headquartered in Hawthorn East, Australia, RayGen has raised approximately 12.4 million at the Series D stage with investors including EIC Fund, SLB, Equinor, AGL, Chevron, Breakthrough Victoria, Australian Renewable Energy Agency, Quanta Services, and Oxy.
