About

SAX Power manufactures lithium-iron-phosphate (LiFePO4) battery storage systems with integrated inverter and backup functionality for residential solar energy applications. The company's innovative AC battery technology converts direct current to alternating current directly at the cell level through intelligent cell control, eliminating the need for a separate inverter on the battery side. This design reduces costs, saves space and weight by up to 30%, and simplifies installation for both new PV installations and retrofits. SAX Power uses cobalt-free LiFePO4 cells that provide four times higher safety compared to conventional NMC cells, with individual cell monitoring that shuts down any faulty cell within 0.0002 seconds, practically eliminating fire and explosion risk. The system achieves 99% conversion efficiency with negligible idle energy loss and heat generation. A unique rotating charge balancing method fully utilizes each cell's capacity through individual charging and discharging, extending battery lifespan by up to 50% and enabling modular expansion where new battery modules deliver full performance even when added to existing systems. The SAX Power Home product line includes 5.8 kWh and 7.7 kWh modules, expandable up to 15.6 kWh with three modules. Installation requires only a smart meter or home energy management system, with the battery unit mounted and connected via wired or wireless options. SAX Power was named test winner in the HTW Berlin home storage ranking, recognized for having the lowest energy loss among all tested storage systems.
