Smart Pipe is a pipeline rehabilitation technology company that manufactures high-pressure reinforced thermoplastic pipeline replacement systems. The company Smartpipe technology is a non-invasive, trenchless pipeline replacement solution designed according to API 15S and ASTM Standard F2896-11, allowing operators to restore aging pipeline infrastructure without disturbing the right of way. Smartpipe features embedded fiber optic monitoring and communication systems that provide 24/7 real-time information on potential threats including leaks and third-party intrusion, accurate to approximately one meter. The system uses high-strength longitudinal pulling tapes for continuous on-site production, enabling pulls of several miles through host pipelines. Smartpipe can be custom manufactured to various diameters, operates at pressure ratings approximately 3x greater than steel pipelines, and has been tested for hydrogen piping applications under B31.12 Code Case 200. Founded in 2007 and headquartered in Katy, Texas, Smart Pipe has raised $18.6 million in Series A funding from Enbridge.
