SOLiTHOR develops all-solid-state lithium battery technology for the electromobility sector, with a focus on aviation, urban air mobility, aerospace, and maritime applications. Built on a decade of research at imec, Europe's leading semiconductor R&D institute, the company advances a proprietary sol-gel-derived Solid Composite Electrolyte (SCE) platform and an innovative roll-to-roll manufacturing process that empowers Li-ion manufacturers to adopt solid-state architecture with ease. The technology targets passenger, light commercial, medium-duty commercial vehicles, boats, yachts, ferries, and underwater drones. SOLiTHOR has demonstrated its first 10 Ah multilayer pouch cell and achieved key energy density milestones. Founded in 2021 and headquartered in Genk, Belgium, the company has raised $10.4 million in seed funding from investors including imec.xpand, LRM, Nuhma, SFPI, and the European Innovation Council.
