About

Turing develops generative AI-based automated driving technology with the mission of achieving full autonomous driving, encapsulated in its bold slogan We Overtake Tesla. The company leverages end-to-end AI approaches where cars perform driving operations directly from camera images, using generative AI that understands the world to enable complete autonomous driving as the only solution. Turing holds three core technical beliefs: that AI will revolutionize many fields and reach autonomous driving, that simplicity triumphs over complexity, and that end-to-end is the key point where world-understanding generative AI represents the only solution for full autonomous driving. The company develops physical foundation models and vehicle-mounted E2E systems, having been selected by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and NEDO for the GENIAC program to conduct joint research with automotive-related companies on vehicle-mounted E2E systems and physical foundation models. Turing also conducts research on robot foundation models as part of GENIAC, advancing physical foundation model development and vehicle-mounted E2E system implementation for full autonomous driving. The company technical blog covers topics including map matching for urban autonomous driving, 3DGS driving simulators, and vehicle system design with a Less is More philosophy. Founded in 2021 and headquartered in Shinagawa, Tokyo, Japan, Turing has raised approximately $147.4 million in Series A funding, including a total of 27.89 billion yen across the Series A round with an extension round of 12.62 billion yen. Investors include Digital Hearts Holdings, DIMENSION, Mizuho Capital, NTT Docomo Ventures, Yanmar, Z Venture Capital, ANRI, Sparks Asset Management, Mirai Creation Fund, Bonds Investment Group, Chibagin Capital, Dentsu Ventures, Mitsubishi UFJ Capital, Kyocera, Shochiku Ventures, and Sony Financial Group. The company employs approximately 69 people.
