About
TurtleTree produces LF+, the world first sustainably produced lactoferrin, using precision fermentation technology to address the limited supply of milk most valuable protein. Lactoferrin, known by TurtleTree as Pink Gold, is a one-of-a-kind ingredient that provides numerous health benefits including immunity boosting through immune cell activation, iron regulation through absorption and metabolism support, gut health through nutrient absorption and intestinal barrier strengthening, and inflammation modulation through balanced immune signaling. While lactoferrin is already used in supplements and infant formulas, only 100 mg is naturally obtainable from one liter of milk, creating a scarce supply that cannot satisfy demand. LF+ solves this through precision fermentation, enabling production more affordably and at far greater scale. LF+ is the only recombinant bovine lactoferrin with FDA No Questions GRAS status, and is vegan-certified, halal-certified, kosher-certified, ISO 22000 certified, gluten-free, lactose-free, soy-free, not tested on animals, and antibiotic-free. Clinical studies show LF+ maintains serum ferritin levels more effectively than bovine lactoferrin, demonstrates enhanced gastric digestion behavior, and retains structural integrity and bioactivity across wider temperature and pH ranges. LF+ is suited for vitamins and supplements, functional beverages, sports nutrition, skincare and cosmetics, and plant-based food and beverages, bridging the functional gap between conventional and plant-based products. Founded in 2019 and headquartered in Singapore, TurtleTree has raised approximately $42.3 million in Series A funding from investors including Verso Capital, Artesian, Green Monday, KBW Ventures, Eat and Beyond, CPT Capital, Lever VC, Novozymes, Mitsui Chemicals, Wavemaker Impact, Siddhi Capital, and Plug and Play. The company employs approximately 19 people.
