Xefco develops advanced sustainable textile technologies that reduce the environmental impact of textile manufacturing, addressing an industry responsible for 8% of global carbon emissions and 79 trillion litres of annual water consumption. The company's two core technologies are Ausora, a waterless plasma dyeing and finishing system that eliminates the need for water in the textile coloration process, and XReflex, a radiant barrier technology that enhances thermal performance in textiles. Ausora uses plasma processes to dye and finish fabrics without the vast water, energy, and chemical inputs required by conventional dyeing methods, while XReflex creates 3D scrim textures visible in performance apparel such as cycling jackets, providing radiant barrier properties for insulation and thermal management. Xefco's science-led systems are engineered from the outset to use fewer resources while delivering higher performance, trusted by leading brands and mills worldwide. The company has received a $5 million Industry Growth Program grant to scale its waterless plasma textile manufacturing technology and was recognized as one of Victoria's Top 20 Tech Startups. Founded in 2018 and headquartered in Sydney, Australia, Xefco has raised approximately $10.5 million at the Seed stage from investors including Main Sequence, Investible, Virescent Ventures, Breakthrough Victoria, and Cicada Innovations.
