Overview

Swallow is a London based insurance pricing platform that separates pricing models from application code. The workbench covers data import and versioning, a visual model builder needing no code, automated scenario and impact testing, governance with approvals and audit trails, and instant publishing of any model as a live rating interface, an embeddable quote form, a chatbot or a voice agent. Herbie, the AI actuary inside the platform, turns a prompt into a tested and deployable pricing model, generates test suites, writes compliance reports and version summaries, and answers product questions. A second line at serff.ai indexes United States rate filings at scale, extracts the rating logic inside them, and turns an approved filing into a working rater carrying base rates, factor tables, class plan, territory definitions, discounts, surcharges and minimum premium rules, then generates the filing artifact set for a credentialed actuary to certify. Market Pricing Analytics runs any risk through other carriers' reconstructed rating plans, built from filed rates rather than sampled quotes. The platform is state aware for United States filings, distinguishing file and use from prior approval states and handling premium taxes, minimum premium rules, residual market assessments and state specific rating restrictions. Named customers include Open, Rivr, MGT Insurance, Ouch and ISC, with the largest serving more than three million quotes a month and the largest by revenue above one billion dollars a year. Founded in 2022 by Callum Rimmer, co founder of the usage based motor insurer By Miles, with Sam Clifton and Josh Overton, on pre seed funding co led by Connect Ventures and Jigsaw VC. Named in the InsurTech100 for 2024. Pricing starts at 2,500 pounds a month and scales on quote volume and gross written premium, with a discounted plan for insurers under 10 million pounds of premium.
