About
Liquity is a decentralized borrowing protocol that enables users to borrow against ETH and liquid staked ETH collateral, issuing the BOLD stablecoin as a USD-pegged digital asset. Liquity V2 introduces user-set interest rates, allowing borrowers to fix their borrowing costs at a rate they choose and adjust at any time, providing predictable costs without surprise fees or protocol changes. The protocol supports multi-collateral including ETH, wstETH from Lido, and rETH from Rocket Pool, with capital efficiency of up to 91 percent loan-to-value ratio. BOLD is an over-collateralized stablecoin backed only by crypto assets with no real-world assets or centralized custody, rated A- by Bluechip for its resilience. The stablecoin is directly redeemable, fully on-chain, and not subject to collateral changes or protocol upgrades due to its immutable design. Liquity V2 also features a looping function for one-click leverage on staked ETH, yield earning through stability pool deposits and protocol-incentivized liquidity, and LQTY staking for voting power and dual rewards from both V1 and V2 protocol revenues. The protocol supports a forks ecosystem with 15-plus forks including QuillFi, AsymmetryFi, Nerite, and others deploying the licensed codebase on other networks. Liquity V1 continues to operate alongside V2, with LUSD remaining available as a pure ETH-backed stablecoin. Founded in 2020 and headquartered in Baar, Switzerland, the company has raised $8.4M in Series A funding from investors including Polychain, Lemniscap, 1kx, DFINITY, Pantera Capital, Nima Capital, Alameda Research, IOSG Ventures, Greenfield Capital, and A.Capital Ventures.
