About

nT-Tao is a nuclear fusion energy company developing compact 20 MWe fusion systems designed to deliver firm, on-site baseload power for infrastructure that cannot wait for grid expansion. The company's flagship product, the Tao Energy Box, is engineered for distributed, clean, 24/7 firm power generation on or off the grid, with standardized and repeatable manufacturing for fast deployment and scalable local generation. nT-Tao targets energy-intensive infrastructure markets including national and critical infrastructure, maritime shipping and ports, data centers and AI power, and EV quick fleet charging, where time-to-power has become a defining constraint. The Tao Energy Box is designed for low-risk deployment close to the user, accelerating time-to-revenue through improved operational control, reduced grid dependency, greater reliability, and lower infrastructure and integration risks compared to centralized power systems. The company's multidisciplinary team brings together physicists, engineers, and operators, led by CEO and co-founder Oded Gour-Lavie, a retired Rear Admiral from the Israeli Navy and former commander of the Israeli Submarine Fleet; Chief Scientist and co-founder Doron Weinfeld, with over 30 years in plasma physics research; and CTO and co-founder Boaz Weinfeld, an experimental physicist with 18 years at Intel. nT-Tao has partnered with Israel's National Water Company Mekorot to explore fusion energy for critical water infrastructure and is involved in projects including the world's first floating fusion reactor-powered vessel. Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Hod Hasharon, Israel, nT-Tao has raised $28.0M in Series A funding from investors including Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Venture Capital, Delek US Holdings, Next Gear Ventures, OurCrowd, Grantham Foundation, J-Impact Fund, Honda Xcelerator Ventures, East Innovate, and Innovation Israel.
