Skorpios Technologies is a developer of next-generation silicon photonics optical communication products and solutions. The company proprietary Tru-SiPh platform enables true heterogeneous integration of lasers and other III-V elements within silicon wafers, providing high-performance wafer-scale integration with thousands of devices per wafer. The platform offers embedded lasers, modulators, and photodiodes in an extremely compact architecture that is natively hermetically sealed and requires no additional packaging. Skorpios has unveiled revolutionary 1.6 Tbps and 6.4 Tbps optical engines delivering the lowest cost-per-bit for AI data centers, and achieved a record 0.35 FIT laser reliability setting a new benchmark for silicon photonics infrastructure. The platform serves direct detect, coherent, co-packaged optics, and LiDAR applications across O- and C-band wavelengths. The optical toolbox includes single frequency and tunable DBR lasers, electroabsorption and Mach Zender modulators, high-bandwidth photodiodes, tuning-free mux/demux, gratings, couplers, polarization control elements, low-loss waveguides with 5um bend radii, and optical phased arrays. The company operates its own high-volume silicon foundry. Founded in 2009 and headquartered in Albuquerque, United States, Skorpios has raised approximately 23.2 million at the Series B stage with investors including T.Capital, Sun Mountain Capital, Ericsson, and Cottonwood Technology Fund.
